A wreath - A circular decoration usually made from pine tree branches and hung on doors. It represents the circle of life.
To deck the halls – To decorate the home with Christmas decorations
x-mas – the shortened form of Christmas. Not usually used by Christians
T’was – the shortened form of ‘it was’ commonly used in the Christmas poem ‘T’was The Night Before Christmas’
Boughs of holly – bunches of holly branches used to decorate homes at Christmas time
A Christmas cake – different from regular cake, this cake has candied fruit inside and is very rich and dense.
Mistletoe – a plant that is hung from the ceiling at Christmas. If you are standing under the mistletoe with another person, you should kiss them.
Jack Frost – a mythical creature thought to cause cold weather and frosty conditions
Frosty – more formally known as Frosty the Snowman, this cartoon character is a favorite Christmas show for many children
A Grinch - Based on a Dr. Seuss character who stole Christmas, this is a person who is unkind and uncharitable
